چکیده
This study elucidated the impact of sewage-sludge (SS) and olive-mill-waste (OMW) biochar amendments to soil using tomatoes as a test crop. Four treatments were evaluated: “control” with no amendment, two SS addition 10 t/ha 25 t/ha, respectively, an OMW treatment t/ha. Higher yields observed in both treatments, providing evidence that acts plant bio-stimulant. Biochar application had positive impacts on carbon sequestration structure. The uptake heavy metals by all parts was very low, indicating is appropriate product for land application. dose type induced changes composition due different unique species biodiversity microbial communities. Venn diagrams revealed majority identified taxa shared among only small proportion them bulk between treatments. In rhizosphere, OMW-biochar-treated plants showed higher number taxa. Microbiota structure plays major role stimulation growth; however, further research needed understand these shifts functioning agroecosystems.

Adsorption and desorption of lead in Iranian acid and alkaline soils amended with sewage sludge-derived biochar
The effective management of sewage sludge materials in an environmentally and economically acceptable way is through the pyrolytic conversion of the sludge to biochar and its use for agricultural purposes. The aims of this work were: (1) to assess the effect of biochar prepared from sewage sludge at two different temperatures (350 ºC and 650 ºC) on the adsorption/desorptio...
متن کاملSewage Sludge Biochar: Physicochemical Properties and Fractionation of Zinc and Lead Metals
One of the significant factors affecting biochar properties is the pyrolysis temperature. This study aimed to investigate the effect of pyrolysis temperature on the properties and fractionation of Zn and Pb in biochars produced by sewage sludge. Biochars were prepared at temperatures of 300 to 700 °C and the physicochemical properties, availability, and fractionation of Zn and Pb were investiga...
متن کاملEffects of Biochar-Derived Sewage Sludge on Heavy Metal Adsorption and Immobilization in Soils
The object of this study was to evaluate the effect of sewage sludge biochar on adsorption and mobility of Cr, Mn, Cu, and Zn. Biochar (BC400) was produced via pyrolysis of municipal sewage sludge at 400 °C. Maximum adsorption capacities (qm) for Zn, Cr, Mn, and Cu were 5.905, 5.724, 5.681, and 5.342 mg·g-1, respectively, in the mono-metal solution and 2.475, 8.204, 1.01, and 5.415 mg·g-1, resp...
متن کاملMicroalgae Cultivation on Anaerobic Digestate of Municipal Wastewater, Sewage Sludge and Agro-Waste
Microalgae are fast-growing photosynthetic organisms which have the potential to be exploited as an alternative source of liquid fuels to meet growing global energy demand. The cultivation of microalgae, however, still needs to be improved in order to reduce the cost of the biomass produced. Among the major costs encountered for algal cultivation are the costs for nutrients such as CO₂, nitroge...
متن کاملActivated carbon and biochar amendments decrease pore-water concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sewage sludge.
The aim of the research was to determine the influence of biochar and activated carbon (AC) on the freely dissolved concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sewage sludge. Two different biochars (MSB and PMW) and two ACs (CP1 and BP2) were used in the present experiment. Addition of AC/biochar to sewage sludge caused significant decrease of freely dissolved PAHs concentration...
